A dog owner who loses a dog may struggle to cope with the loss. Grieving the death of a dog can take a variety of forms. Some dog owners may move more easily into acceptance and treasuring the memories of the dog, while others may struggle with pain and sadness for extended periods of time.
Pet memorials may help some dog owners deal with their pet loss. There are many types of pet memorials. Some websites have poems and support for dog owners who are grieving for a pet. Guests of such websites may be able to post pictures of their beloved dog.
Some dog memorials are featured in the home of the dog owner. A dog owner may make a memorial by putting photographs of the dog and the dog’s collar or other mementos in a shadow box or display case. A special photograph of the dog in a frame may feel special to a grieving dog owner.
Dog owners who experienced the loss of their dog sometimes create special articles as dog memorials. A special keychain can be made from a keychain that holds a photograph. By placing a photograph of the dog and decorating the outside of the keychain with the dog’s name in alphabet stickers or paint can help the dog owners still feel connected to their dogs.
Jewelry is often used as a pet memorial. A dog-shaped pendent or charm can be added to a necklace or bracelet. A locket can hold the picture of the dog. Some dog owners make pins that feature a photograph of the dog.
Some dog owners either make a small tombstone or have one made for their dog. Even if the dog’s remains are not present, the dog owner may want to have a marker or small memorial in a garden on the dog owner’s property. Some may even make a small garden just as a memorial garden. The grieving dog owners must do what they think will help them through the grieving process. Once the dog owners can accept the dog’s death, they can move from being depressed about the death to being able to cherish the memories of the dog.

I had to put Sadie to sleep on Monday. I held her in my arms while
they injected her. She laid her head on my shoulder. I held her and kissed her several times. I left Sadie there to be cremated. I have
her ashes her collar and her lease. She was with me day and night
for fourteen years. She loved to ride in the car. We traveled to the
farm in South Dakota together and a vacation to Duluth. She sleep in
a tent and also spent time in a motel. My heart is aching. I wake
up looking for her. I hear her tag jingle. I cry. She tried to so hard
but her little body just couldn’t work anymore. I loved her more than
anyone can imagine. I am finding picture of her . What a wonderful
little spirit. God bless by little girl
